Stress Management Workshop For Managers

A one-hour Stress Management Workshop was conducted by Dr Bhavna Barmi on 4th September 2018 for managers in which a wide spectrum of techniques aimed at managing a person's level of stress for the purpose of improving everyday functioning was taught. The objective was to aid in maintaining a healthier work-life balance. Participants reported that thereof they were able to take charge of their thoughts and emotions, develop better distress tolerance skills that have helped them deal with the various environmental stressors to regain a healthy work-life balance.

Company Secretaries

An ongoing training workshop for company secretary students has been going on since over a decade to work on the personality development and communication skills with the Institute of Company Secretaries of India. An enhancement in their overall personality has been visible with the development of healthy coping skills with a focus on positive thoughts and emotions.

Corporate workshop

A workshop was conducted on the 12th of October for the directors of a company to help them de-stress from their everyday work life.
Relaxation techniques and visual imagery were used to induce a natural state of relaxation. Directors reported a decrease in their stress levels and physical as well as mental relaxation after performing the activities.

A pan-India workshop was conducted by Dr Bhavna Barmi on 8th of March-International Women's Day on the topic of Superwoman Syndrome. The workshop was aimed at understanding the syndrome, the effects of the superwoman syndrome and learning tips to balance family life and balance yourself. The participants reported having learnt how to cultivate a healthy work-life balance, successfully maintain the home to work transition and learn to develop a healthy work-life balance.

Workshop on "Developing an attitude of gratitude"

Jaismeen and Kirti from Dr. Barmi's team conducted a workshop on developing an attitude of gratitude at The Golden Estate, Faridabad on 31st July. A group of senior citizens at the Estate along with staff and the head, Col. Sunil Ahuja attended the workshop.

The importance of inculcating gratitude as an important virtue for paychologicalwell being was discussed, supported by interest research findings. Anecdotes and experiences were shared by many citizens, thereby making the workshop an interactive and engaging one. Steps of gratitude, namely, Recognizing-Remembering-Reciprocating were described to help participants understand how they can incorporate an attitude of gratitude in their lives. Practices like keeping a gratitude journal, mindfulness with gratitude were encouraged. The session ended with everyone's signing a gratitude tree made for display at the Estate.

Burnout Prevention Workshop for Bureaucrats

Dr. Barmi conducted a workshop with the bureaucrats over Burnout Prevention and Management. During the workshop the participants were made aware of the state of burnout and its prolonged impact on the individual. Further, management techniques and coping mechanisms were learnt to deal with stress and its impact.

Psychological First aid for Managers at Concentrix

Workshop was conducted with Managers at Concentrix for Psychological First Aid. The workshop included an interactive discussion on mental health concerns and understanding the connection between occupational stress and mental health. The workshop helped managers gain insight into the signs and symptoms of mental illness, identifying risks and how to respond and provide support.

Workshop at NIFM for Self-Enhancement

Dr. Barmi along with her team conducted a workshop at the very prestigious National institute of Financial Management on Self-Enhancement. The target audience for the same were Rajasthan Cadre Officers.

This session provided transformational learning and important breakthroughs in common issues such as work stress, relationship difficulties, self-confidence and lack of motivation. Participants were actively engaged in the session and took away insightful learnings as to developing healthier coping skills and addressing burnout issues actively. Each participant also committed to changing an area of life that they felt needed improvement and learnt positive steps to take for the same.

School Workshop

An interactive workshop was conducted by Dr Bhavna Barmi on the topic of Growing-Up Right with adolescents. The aim of the workshop was to understand the holistic development of a child through the interaction of physical, social and emotional development in adolescents. With the use of role-plays and quiz, an intrinsic understanding of the challenges faced by teenagers and ways to resolve them were prevailed.

Workshop at Psynapse'19 Jamia Millia University

On 27th of March, Dr. Bhavna Barmi and her team of professionals conducted a workshop and a seminar on "Stress and its coping strategies for Youngsters" at Psynapse'19 Jamia Millia University. As a part of this event, free counseling sessions, evaluation of stress and happiness, cognition enhancement games along with tarot card reading were done. The participants for the same provided an extremely warm feedback and enjoyed it thoroughly.

Workshop on aggression and violence in teenagers

Workshop was conducted by Dr. Bhavna on the growing aggression and violence in teenagers. This interactive workshop included role plays, quizzes and discussion over various causes of aggression. Towards the end of the workshop the development of healthier coping mechanisms and effective emotional expression was encouraged to deal with negative emotions.

Cleansing Workshop

Workshop on Cleansing at Happiness Studio on the 30th of August, 2018. It consisted of a stimulating session on emotional and mental cleansing wherein the facilitator, Dr Nipa Das utilized the following internationally lauded and credited techniques:

  • Ho'oponopono, a Hawaiian practice of reconciliation and forgiveness
  • Three-Step Rhythmic Breathing exercise which has known benefits like controlling palpitations, dissolving valves blockages, etc.

Yoga and Meditation

A yoga and meditation workshop was conducted by a renowned guru, Mr Hariyogi Ji on the 19th of August 2018. The objective of the 3-hour workshop was to enhance the balance of mind and heart as well as to restore stability and rejuvenate the self. The participants displayed better moods, reported lower levels of anxiety and tension, developed a sense of control in anger and enhancement in mindfulness.

Mindfulness Workshop

An outdoor retreat workshop on Mindfulness was conducted by Sonia Puar on the 23rd of September. The aim of the workshop was to make one aware of their thoughts, emotions and physical actions by increasing their awareness of the present moment. This helped the participants feel relaxed and learn how to deal with their overwhelming emotions in moments of distress.

Self Empowerment Workshop

On the occasion of Guru Purnima, a special session on personal growth was organized on 17th July, at Happiness Studio , a centre for wellness enhancement.

This session provided transformational learning and important breakthroughs in common issues such as work stress, relationship difficulties, worry about future, lack of motivation and developing a sense of purpose in life. Participants were actively engaged in the session and took away insightful learnings. Each participant also committed to changing an area of life that they felt needed improvement and learnt positive steps to take for the same.

Expressive Arts Therapy Workshop

An Expressive Arts Therapy Workshop was conducted at the Happiness Studio on the occasion of Children's Day- 14th November 2019. The aim of the workshop was to explore the emotional connection between parents and children through the means of expressive arts therapy. The purpose of the workshop was to use the modes of expressive arts therapy in an integrated manner to help with personal growth, healing and development of healthier relationships.
Participants of the workshop conveyed that the session helped them gain clarity about their unprocessed emotions and learn skills for effective communication.
